Originally from Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Clint Alley has loved history and the preservation of memory from an early age. When thirteen years old, he began his journey into family history by interviewing his grandmother. In the summer of 2000, he participated in an SEAC archaeological dig which discovered and preserved important relics from the main Temple Mound at Shiloh National Military Park. Clint obtained his undergraduate degree in history and journalism from the University of North Alabama in 2006 and three years later earned a Master's Degree at University of North Alabama in Education (emphasis: History). Since 2009, Clint has taught both high school and college students, and served as the Digital Archivist for the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library in Florence, Alabama. Clint has always been interested in the American Civil War. In December 2012, he published Culture of Violence: Livestock, Honor, and Feuding in the Scottish Borders in the North Alabama Historical Review. His continued graduate work in public history focuses on archival preservation. Late in 2013, Clint developed and launched the Facebook site 'Lawrence County History Trivia,' in an effort to teach the citizens of his home of Lawrence County, Tennessee about their own rich history, and to inspire hometown pride. Within four months, that site reached a fanbase of over 1,000 people. In early 2014, he launched a companion blog to the site entitled 'The Lawrence County Historical Review,' which offers a more in-depth look at local history than the Facebook site can provide. In addition to his full-time efforts at the library,Clint serves as an adjunct American history instructor for Columbia State Community College (Lawrenceburg, Tennessee branch.) He is a member of the American Association of State and Local History, a board member of the Tennessee Valley Historical Society, a member of the New England Historic Genealogical Society, the Alabama Historical Association, the Society of Alabama Archivists, and the Southern Historical Association.
