Allen County, Kentucky Vital Statistics, Marriages, 1858

In 1852, Kentucky passed a law requiring the registration of births, deaths, and marriages by the State. These were to be returned to the County Clerk's Office prior to January 10. The marriages recorded were in addition to those recorded by the Clerk's Office from bonds, licenses, and minister's returns. Since most of Allen County's early marriages were destroyed in a Courthouse fire, the Vital Statistics Marriages are particularly valuable.
